Nous avions décidé de participer à l'exposition Internationale de Luxembourg, qui a lieu deux fois par an, en mars et en septembre.

Bien sûr, les propriétaires de Cobby et de Cassandra étaient prêts pour une nouvelle aventure !

Nous sommes donc partis, le dimanche 5 septembre, avec Lahja, Katia, Léna, Lucy, Cobby, et Cassandra, ainsi que Natacha, Marie et Xavier.

L'arrivée à l'expo s'est passée sans encombres, à l'heure espérée, Natacha n'avait pas raté son réveil, Cassandra n'a pas été malade dans la voiture, Lahja non plus, et Lucy n'était pas trop stressée ...  Bref, un bon début de journée pour tout le monde.

Comme à l'accoutumée à cette expo, un grand nombre de Cockers inscrits (67 anglais et 50 américains), et Lahja était seule comme Irish Water Spaniel...  La tension était grande pour Marie et Natacha, qui entraient là "dans la cour des grands", avec le titre de "Jeune Champion du Luxembourg" à la clé...  Carol était également très stressée (mais c'est habituel) car Katia pouvait décrocher là le titre de "Championne du Luxembourg", car elle avait déjà obtenu un CAC à l'expo du mois de mars, et deux CAC sont nécessaires pour obtenir ce titre.

L'ambiance à l'expo était agréable, on discutait à gauche et à droite, Luxembourg étant un grand rendez-vous pour beaucoup d'éleveurs, notamment Luxembourgeois (bien sûr), Belges, Français, Allemands, Hollandais, mais aussi parfois Italiens, Espagnols, Tchèques, etc ... Nous étions dans un endroit plus isolé, et nous n'y étions pas trop à l'étroit comme cela arrive parfois à cette expo...

Avant toute chose, l'on devait passer au secrétariat de l'exposition car Léna était inscrite dans la mauvaise couleur...  Et là je voudrais tirer un grand coup de chapeau à l'organisation de l'expo, pour son efficacité et sa rapidité ...  5 minutes d'attente, 2 minutes pour effectuer le changement (tout est informatisé, et tout le catalogue de l'expo y est donc accessible et modifiable en un clin d'oeil), 30 secondes pour repasser au ring y déposer le nouveau futur diplôme de Léna ...  Et voilà, cet épisode est déjà oublié.

Dernières leçons et conseils pour tout le monde avant de passer dans le ring : Dany et Marie apprennent à dire l'âge de leur chien en anglais (nous n'étions pas sûrs que le juge parle français), tout le monde regarde et prête attention aux figures demandées par le juge, à savoir un aller-retour et un cercle, et la tension monte encore d'un cran.

En attendant tout cela, Carol accumule le stress déjà bien présent, d'abord en craquant son pantalon (heureusement, c'était invisible ;-)), ensuite en se faisant renverser du café (heureusement noir) sur son blazer, puis en se rendant compte que Lulu et Katia risquaient très fort de passer au même moment sur le ring (le juge pour les Cockers anglais était différent de celui pour les américains), ce qui est très embarrassant.  Finalement, nous décidons, Lulu étant seule dans sa classe, d'aller demander à la secrétaire de ring de la faire passer plus tard si besoin est, ce qui est accepté sans problème.

Lahja remporte le CAC, le CACIB et le Meilleur de race. 

Cobby remporte le CAC Jeune avec le qualificatif  "Excellent" et donc le titre de "Jeune Championne du Luxembourg", félicitations à elle et à Natacha pour cette très belle prestation, elle peut ainsi participer à la finale des Jeunes sur le ring d'honneur. 

Léna remporte le CAC aussi, elle est maintenant "demi" Championne du Luxembourg. 

Katia, malgré une statique difficile (due au stress de Carol ?), se rattrape par son entrain et sa merveilleuse démarche, et gagne sa classe (elles étaient 5), ce qui fait d'elle, à l'âge de 20 mois, une Championne !!! 

Cassandra, quant à elle, est classée 2ème sur une classe de 7. Même si Marie clame que c'est de sa faute si Cassandra n'a pas gagné la classe, elle s'est quand même très bien débrouillée avec Cassandra, malgré une main douloureuse, et un stress très important.  Et puis, il faut un début à tout, et nous tenons à la féliciter chaleureusement, car ce résultat est le fruit d'un travail quasi-quotidien, Cassandra étant, en bon cocker qui se respecte, assez têtue.

Notre petite Lulu ne s'est pas trop mal débrouillée, et remporte un 1er Excellent CAC Jeunes, et est donc également "Jeune Championne du Luxembourg"...

Cobby, Lulu et Lahja devaient donc passer sur le ring d'honneur.  C'était une première pour Cobby (et Natacha) et Lulu, et le nombre de Jeunes était impressionnant (tous les CAC Jeunes ont le droit de participer à la finale des Jeunes sur le ring d'honneur) ... 

Lulu s'est bien débrouillée, et Cobby encore mieux car elle a été sélectionnée dans les 6 meilleurs jeunes, ce que nous jugeons remarquable étant donné la concurrence !  Elle n'a pas été reprise dans le podium des 3 meilleurs jeunes, et Natacha pense que c'est de sa faute, car elle n'aurait pas bien compris une indication donnée par le juge ...  C'est déjà super comme ça, alors toutes nos félicitations Natacha et Cobby ... 

Lahja est également repassée pour la finale du Groupe 8, mais sans résultat ...  Ce sera pour une prochaine fois ;-)  A noter que le Meilleur du Groupe 8 a été remporté par le très joli Cocker anglais rouge "Charbonnel Desert Gold" (appartenant à Mr & Mme Raquin), le frère de notre "Nice".

La journée s'est achevée dans la joie et la bonne humeur, et ce sera encore, je pense, un très bon souvenir pour tout le monde.

Encore toutes nos félicitations et nos encouragements à Natacha et "Marie and Co", pour leur assiduité dans les séances de show-training, leur écoute vis-à-vis de nos conseils, leur volonté de faire pour un mieux et aussi le fait de ne pas hésiter à se remettre en question.  Nous sommes fiers que ces personnes représentent notre élevage et nous les en remercions, car en plus nos journées d'expo sont bien plus animées et plus gaies depuis que toute cette petite équipe est présente autour de nous.  Et une fois de plus, merci à Xavier pour le reportage photos !!!  Que de souvenirs nous manquerions si tu n'étais pas là pour les immortaliser !

We decided to take part to the International Luxembourg dog show, an event that happens twice a year, in March and in September.

Of course, Cobby and Cassandra owners were ready for a new adventure !

So, we left, on Sunday September 5th, with Lahja, Katia, Léna, Lucy, Cobby and Cassandra.

The arrival to the show went without problems, at the time we hoped, Natacha didn't miss her alarm clock, Cassandra and Lahja didn't get sick in the car and Lucy wasn't too stressed ... So, it was a good beginning for everyone. .

Like usual at that show, there was a lot of Cockers entered (67 English and 60 American), and Lahja was alone as Irish Water Spaniel...  The tension was high for Marie and Natacha, because they were coming into "the serious things", with the title of "Young Luxembourg Champion" concerned... Carol was also very stressed (but that's usual) because Katia could win the title of "Luxembourg Champion", as she already won a CAC at the March Show, and deux CAC are needed to get the title.

The atmosphere at the show was pleasant, with everybody chatting, Luxembourg is a big meeting for a lot of breeders, Luxembourgish (of course), Belgian, French, German, Dutch, but also sometimes Italians, Spanish, Czech, etc ...  We were in a more isolated place, and we had enough place, that is not always the case at that show...

First of all, we had to go to the show secretariat because Léna was entered in the wrong colour...  And I want to congratulate the show organisation, for its effectiveness and speed ... 5 minuts waiting, 2 minuts to do the changing (they are working with computers, so all the show catalogue is accessible and modifiable in a few moment), 30 seconds to go again to the ring to give them Léna's future new diploma ... And all is ok, that part is already forgotten.

Last lessons and advices for everybody : Dany and Marie are learning to tell their dog age in English (we weren't sure that the judges were speaking French), everyone is looking and taking attention to the figures asked by the judge, one come and return and one circle, and the stress is increasing ...

During the waiting, Carol is more and more stressed, and it's getting worse when she "broke" her trousers (fortunately, it was invisible ;-)), then somebody reverses some coffie (fortunately black coffie) on her jacket, and finally she understands that Lulu and Katia risk to be judged at the same time (The English and the American Cockers judges were different), and that was very embarrassing.  Finally, we decided, as Lulu was alone in her class, to go and ask to the ring secretary to be judged a bit later if necessary, and she accepted with any problem. 

Lahja wins the CAC, the CACIB and the Best Of Breed. 

Cobby wins the Young CAC with the "Excellent" qualifier, and so she is "Young Luxembourg Champion", congratulations to her and to Natacha for that great event, so she can take part to the Young final on the main ring. 

Léna wins the CAC too, and sh's now "half" Luxembourg Champion. 

Katia, in spite of a difficult "stand" (due to Carol's stress ?), catchs up with her temperament and her wonderful movement, and win her class (they were 5), and becomes, at 20 months old, a Champion !!! 

Cassandra is classified 2nd on 7. Even if Marie tells that's her fault if Cassandra didn't win the class, she managed very well with Cassandra, in spite of a painful hand, and a great stress. And everythin has a beginning, and we want to congratulate her because that result is coming from a nearly daily work, and Cassandra is, like a good cocker, very obstinate.

Our little Lulu managed well too, and she win a 1st Excellent Young CAC, and so is also 'Young Luxembourg Champion" ...

So, Cobby, Lulu and Lahja had to go on the main ring.  It was the first time for Cobby (and Natacha) and Lulu, and the number of Young was impressing (all the Young CAC can take part in the Young Final on the main ring) ... 

Lulu managed very well, and Cobby managed even better as she was selected in the 6 best young, and we find that remarkable because there was so many competitors !  She was selected in the podium of the 3 best young, and Natacha thinks it's her fault because she didn't understand very well an indication given by the judge ..  But that result is great, so all our congratulations to Natacha and Cobby ... 

Lahja went for the 8th Group final but without result ... It will be for next time ;-)  Note that the Best of Group was won by the nice red English Cocker "Charbonnel Desert Gold" (owned by Mr & Mrs Raquin), the brother of our "Nice".

The day ended in joy and good mood, and I think it will be again some very good memories for everyone.

Again, all our congrats and our encouragements to Natacha and "Marie & Co", for their assiduity in the show-training lessons, their listening to our advices, their will to do their best and also the fact that they don't hesitate to call themselves in question.  We are very proud that these people represent our kennel and we thank them, because our show days are more animated and more merry since that team is with us at shows.  And, once more, thanks to Xavier for the photos !!!  We would miss a lot of memories if you weren't there to immortalise them !
